The star has published a very detailed story about the semi-tribal conflict between
Nandi and Luo. The story however digs deeper to pre-colonial era historical
injustice which I believe the story brings more harm than good. The cattle
theft issue is clearly known by the residents of the said region that the
stolen cattle are slaughtered at a certain slaughterhouse in the lakeside city
whose owner belongs to neither of the fighting tribes.
The real
owners of the cattle in pursuit of the culprit who they don't know annihilate
any living soul in their path as they seek for answers by interrogation.
Unknown
to the owners of the stolen cattle, their own man organized the dispatch of the
loot, and once the package is safely delivered, he joins the mob in the search
for the stolen animals. In the end, the other tribe once beaten, they also
assemble and stage a retaliatory attack.
The
first cause thus is selfish unlawful business, and the other cause is probably
political.
I say
political since in this century, we have modern tracking technology which can
be implemented in the animals so that they can be traced and the perpetrators
be brought to book before the locals use primitive techniques hurting an entire
community.
Also,
after all the killings and torched houses, why is there no quick response unit
which can respond on behalf of the owners of the stolen cattle? That way, the
government can ban any security response by civilians thus prevent ethnicity.
My take
is that, someone somewhere benefits when the two communities fight. The war
takes the heat from him. He knows himself. He is mortal and when he dies, there
is a special fire and a fork for his a** for people like him> R.I.P in
advance.
